The Westgate Badminton Centre

The Centre has more than one purpose. In school time it is a fine sports hall for the Westgate School in Winchester. At weekends, in the evenings and in the school holidays it is the home of the Hampshire Badminton Association, offering a 5-court hall, built to international standards, a dedicated Reception area with Sports shop and Club Room/Bar. It hosts many of Hampshire Badminton's Veteran, Senior and Junior Inter-County home matches, most of our Tournaments and our top Coaching Squads. A few League Clubs are based at the Centre. The Centre Staff also run a programme of badminton development to suit all ages and standards as well as tournaments. It is also the home of the Westgate Performance Centre, one of two Performance Centres based in Hampshire, the other being the Topflight Performance Centre based in Eastleigh.

Ex-England international player/Coach Nigel Tier has managed the Centre since its opening in 2002 and he is assisted by Bernard Lynch, also a qualified Coach.
